VCI & VPI
 VCI stands for volatile corrosion inhibitor and VPI stands for volatile protective inhibitor. VCI or VPI are papers and films treated with engineered chemicals that safely prevent corrosion on protected metals. The chemicals in the VCI or VPI products are volatile. When metals are wrapped or packaged in VCI or VPI the chemicals volatize in the packaging environment and form a protective molecular layer on the surface of the metal. This protective layer prevents salt, dirt, oxygen and other materials from depositing on the metal and causing corrosion. 
Available in stock sizes and custom sizes up to 48″ x 100 yds. Edco offers military specification as well as commercial VCI/VPI products. VCI products are available in Kraft paper or polyethylene bases. Edco Canada is one of the few suppliers in Canada that stocks MIL-PRF-22019 Type I roll material or MIL-PRF-22020 Type I bags. MIL-PRF-22019 Type 1 or MIL-PRF-22020 Type 1 is a clear polyethylene/polyester VCI coated film. For more information on VCI or VPI, click here. |
